  • Total of 8,152 benches were comprised by 31 state legal services authorities to hold the Lok Adalat on December 12 through physical and virtual mode.

Nasa selects Indian American Raja Chari as commander of SpaceX Crew 3 Mission

  • Raja Chari, 43, is a colonel in the US Air Force.
  • He will be the commander of SpaceX Crew-3 mission while Nasa’s Tom Marshburn will be pilot and ESA’s Matthias Maurer will serve as a mission specialist.
  • Nasa said the fourth crew member of this mission will be added at a later date, following a review by Nasa and its international partners.
  •  He is a colonel in the US Air Force and joins the mission with extensive experience as a test pilot.

Indian mechanic crushed to death at Chicago O’Hare airport

  • An Indian man, working as a mechanic for a US airline, died after being crushed by airplane equipment at the Chicago O’Hare International Airport.
  • Jijo George, who had migrated from Pathanapuram in Kerala to the United States 17 years ago, is survived by his wife, who is 8-month pregnant, a young child and his parents.
  • George was taken to Resurrection Medical Center, where he died at 3:50 pm, authorities said.
  • The local Indian community has set up an online fundraiser to raise funds for George’s family.

BRICS approved 7 projects to India including covid emergency program

  • The Board of Directors of the BRICS New Development Bank (NDB) approved five investment projects in India during its 29th meeting in a virtual format on December 15. 
  • Two projects were approved earlier taking the total number of investment projects to seven in India.
  • At the Meeting, the board approved five investment projects with a total commitment aggregating to approximately $2.7 billion,” a press release by NDB said.

Owners have to get animal health certificate to enter EU
