Plea regarding victim’s family release dispersed by High Court of Allahabad.

  • Family of Hathras rape case victim filed Habeas Corpus petition saying they’ve been captivated by State Government.
  • Court has dispersed the plea on following grounds:
  • They have been provided protection by the order of SC and Lucknow Bench of Allahabad HC so it’s not appropriate to entertain the filed petition.
  • Petition wasn’t filed by the family itself so there’s no ground to consider this plea at all.
  • However if someone still has any grudge they can go to the SC for the same

High Court of Madras concerned regarding the country’s dependency on china for basic medicinal raw material.

  • While hearing a plea by Vinkem Lab court observed that is our country is way too dependent on China for basic raw material for medicines.
  • Court expressed that it’s very concerning keeping this in mind the situation with China on the border.

Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath inaugurates U.P.’s biggest oxygen plant in a virtual ceremony on 9.10.2020.

  • “The state’s struggle for oxygen will now be a thing of the past. After the installation of HFNC (high-flow nasal cannula), the demand of oxygen had shot up in the Covid-19 hospitals in the state. The new facility will bridge the gap between demand and supply and it is heartening that such a facility is ready during the trying times of the pandemic, when it is needed the most,” said the Chief Minister.
  • The plant is expected to eliminate the oxygen supply problem that the state is facing amidst COVID- 19 pandemic.

Property worth 1.5 crore damaged in a major fire in Kamruk district of Assam.

  • At least 45 shops were damaged in the fire which took place on 9.10.2020 in Kamruk district of Assam.
  • Property worth 1.5 crore were damaged.
  • The preliminary investigation suggests the fire broke out as a result of short circuit.

AI and IOT has been created: capable of monitoring quality and amounts of meals and agriculture merchandise.

  • “It is based on AI and IOT based mechanism with connection to the internet. Recognized by Startup India, the device ensures real time monitoring and quality control of food, agricultural and farm supplies” stated Jain.
  • The Ai and IOT has been developed by a start- up named Udyog Yantra. Ankur Jain is the CEO and founder of the startup.
  • “Once installed in the schools, if a child with his mid-day meal food stands in front of the device, it will provide all information like how much nutrients it has, its temperature and even quantity. This will help the authorities concerned to monitor the program, riddled with complaints of sub-standard food,” stated Jain.

  • On one hand where the ecologists are opposing the proposed project of building a 6.8 tunnel, the Kerala CM in his interview stated that the project will not be allowed to stall as a result of ecological concerns.
  • The ecologists are calling the projects as the recipe for ecological and natural disasters.
  • The administrative authority has sanctioned Rs. 658 crore for this project. But the project hasn’t yet received its environmental clearance which are mandatory and no study of the impact that the project will have has been done.

Metro work to begin under Mutha River, Pune despite the COVID- 19 situation and the lockdown.

  • The Maha-Metro has started digging beneath the Mutha river bed near Shivajinagar for metro Pune Project.
  • Pune is soon going to be the 4th city with underground metro line.
  • “The tunnel will be six meters below the lowest point of the river. After that there is a seven-meter ridge of the tunnel,” said Gadgil.
  • Pune metro will have an underground stretch of approximately 5 km. There will be 5 metro stations.

Fishing cat is nominated as the ambassador of Chilika Lake by CDA

  • The Chilika Development Authority (CDA) nominated the fishing cat, the only wild cat species in India that is wetland specialist, and is seen all around Chilika lake, as the ambassador of Chilika lake.
  • Susanta Nanda, the CEO of CDA, said that the collaboration between CDA and TFCP, for regular protocols to estimate fishing cat population in Chilika.
  • The CDA plans to conduct the marshes with a socio ecological way and access. They are also planning on having a recovery, relief and restoration centre for birds, Irrawaddy, dolphins, fishing cat and other such species with the help of Wildlife Trust of India inside Chilika lagoon.

India test-fires Rudram 1, its first anti radiation missile to finish enemy radars

  • India, on Friday, favourably test fired a new primitive and indigenous air launched missile called, Rudram 1, which is designed to wipe out and demolish enemy radars, and surveillance after being fired from Sukhoi-30MKI fighters.
  • Rudram-1 has a strike range of 100-200 km relying on the altitude from which it is fired, and with the launch speed of Mach 0.6 to 2.
  • It was tested on the Long Wheeler Island off Odisha coast.
  • It can allocate, segregate and engage targets over a wide band of frequencies as programmed.
  • This is first of its kind air to ground missile made by DRDO for neutralizing surveillance and guidance radars, and other radiation emitting targets.
  • This will make sure that IAF strike aircraft can execute and accomplish their missions without any impediment or obstruction.

Prime Minister will launch property cards under SVAMITVA scheme

  • Prime will, on oct 11, launch the physical circulation and delivery of under SVAMITVA scheme. This will help the rural population to use property as a financial asset.
  • These physical copies of the homes of the villagers will be given to around 132,000 land holders during the event.
  • This action and progress will help around 100,000 property owners to download their cards through a link provided to them by a sms.
  • Except Maharashtra, beneficiaries from every state will get property cards within one day.

Maharashtra ATS detained HAL employee for disclosing sensitive information to ISI

  • An employee of HAL, aged 41 years, named Deepak Shirsath, has been arrested by Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), for revealing important and sensitive information of Indian fighter aircraft to ISI of Pakistan.
  • Mobile phones, 5 sim cards, and 2 memory cards seized from Shirsath.
  • According to ATS officials, Shirsath will be charged under Articles 3,4 &5 of the Officials Secrets Act.

NIA detains activists Stan Swamy in bhima koregaon violence case

  • Human rights activist Stan Swamy has been detained by the NIA, for his links with Bhima Koregaon violence.
  • The officials said that Stan Swamy is a member of CPI (Maoist) and has been actively linked with its activities, and he also gets funds for the same. There are documents related to this which are seized by the NIA.

GST e-invoicing for all B2B transactions from 2021

  • Government to introduce the electronic invoicing system for all business-to-business (B2B) transactions under the Goods and Services Tax regime from April 1, 2021.
  • This will replace physical invoices, finance secretary, says Ajay Bhushan Pandey.
  • The government introduced e-invoicing system on October 1 this year for businesses with yearly income over Rs 500 crore.
  • By January 1, 2021, to be available for taxpayers with an annual turnover over Rs 100 crore.

RTGS payment system to be available 24×7

  • The Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) payment system will be available at all times from December 2020
  • This will make online fund transfer smooth, says Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das.

DGGI apprehends exporter companies for availing fraudulent ITC

  • The GST intelligence arm DGGI caught fraudulent aiding of ITC and cash reimbursement of around Rs 61 crore by certain exporter companies.
  • Hardly any exporter companies were involved in the fraudulent aiding of Input Tax Credit on the account of non-existing, unreal and fictitious firms or such firms, which evidently do not have any acquirer themselves, says The Directorate General of GST Intelligence.

India and the UK in the final stages of signing a defence logistics sharing pact

  • India and United Kingdom to sign defence logistics sharing pact soon.
  • According to people aware of the development, this will add a collection of similar agreements with other Indo-Pacific nations which will bolster the reach of warships and aircraft of the region.
