Prolawctor aims at becoming the one-stop solution for law students in terms of various aspects of the legal profession. We are providing, free of cost notes on Criminal Law, Administrative Law, Torts and Contracts among a continuously expanding, wide database. COMPETITION DETAILS

This Case Commentary Competition shall help the law heads simulate their critical thinking, by giving their opinion thereby enabling them to write the best of the commentaries on one of the various landmark judgments listed below. Landmark judgments have been handpicked keeping in mind the best interest of the writer’s creativity. Along with exciting cash prizes and several other rewards, Prolawctor is giving an opportunity to express your views and understanding upon a range of controversial and landmark judgments.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Students pursuing LLB/LLM from any recognised college or university.
  • Professionals working in the field of law.
  • Law students preparing for entrance exams. 

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • Last date to register: 8 September 2020
  • Last date for submission: 14 September 2020
  • Result: Last week of September, 2020

RULES

  • Maximum up to 3 co-authors allowed.
  • Submission must be an original piece of work, where up to 20% plagiarism is allowed.
  • All Submissions must be sent before the deadline adhering to the guidelines at editor.prolawctor@gmail.com

SUMBISSION GUIDELINES

  • Word limit:
  • Minimum 1000 words
  • Maximum 4000 words
  • Format:
    • Ms Word; Times New Roman
  • Font:
    • 12: Main Text;
    • 14: Headings
    • 10: Footnotes
  • Citation:
    • Harvard Bluebook (19th Edition)

SUGGESTED FORMAT

  • Short introduction setting out the context of the commentary by briefing the main contents of the commentary.
    • Page Limit- 1 page maximum
  • Description/ background stating the facts, brief legal history and the main legal issues raised in the case.  In case the commentary suggests certain issues or laws which should have been included in the case, must also be mentioned along with a justification for the same in this section.
    • Page Limit- 3 page maximum
  • About the case which shall include the analysis, critical examination of the contentions and the explanation of socio-political repercussions (if any).  Judgement which shall include the decision of the court comprising of the orbiter dictum, statement.
    • Page Limit- 6 page maximum
  • Your Opinion
    • Page Limit- no suggested limit; The writer shall stick to the total word limit.
